prohibit,ban:prohibit,ban,forbidはどれも「禁止する」の意味だが、prohibit,banは公的な禁止であり、forbidは私的な禁止を示すことが普通である。
「…が〜するのを禁止する」の意味では"ban [prohibit] ... from 〜ing"のパターンで使われる。
forbidは"forbid ... to〜"の型が普通。keep,preventも同じ文型をとる。The snow prevented [kept] me from going out.雪のために外出できなかった。

彼女の誕生日までその計画は彼女は秘密にしておこう。

我々は常に自然放射線にさらされている。
